DECISION ON APPROVAL OF ITC CONFERENCE GRANT
The first Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITC) Conference grant has been approved! GENOA's Young Researchers and Innovators (YRI) group decided to grant the ITC conference grant within grant period 1 (GP1) to Emina Šunje, PhD to attend European Herpetology Congress. The ITC Conference Grant supports PhD students and Early Career Investigators (ECIs) in presenting their research at high-level conferences not organised or co-organised by GENOA COST action. The grant promotes visibility for GENOA, in line with COST’s Excellence and Inclusiveness Policy.
CALL FOR STSM IN WG3 IS OPEN
WG3 announces the call for Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) aiming to support progress in the work plan of WG3 through contribution to the subproject on Genetic diversity in “particular systems”, led by Roberta Gargiulo (r.gargiulo@kew.org) in view of achieving the WG3’s objectives, tasks and deliverables. The STSM Grant will focus on contributing to WG3’s sub-project on genetic diversity characterization and implications for applied conservation in “particular systems”. “Particular systems” refer to taxa with complex life history traits, e.g. polyploid, clonal, haplo-diplontic systems etc. and to taxa in which taxonomic boundaries are unclear, e.g. hybrids/hybrid zones. CALL FOR STSM IN WG2 IS OPEN
WG2 announces the call for Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) aiming to support progress in the work plan of WG2 through contribution to the subproject on the Ne/Nc ratio, led by Joachim Mergeay (joachim.mergeay@inbo.be) in view of achieving the WG2’s objectives, tasks and deliverables. The STSM Grant will focus on improving knowledge on the Ne/Nc ratio across species. The host country of this STSM will be Belgium (under the supervision of Dr. Joachim Mergeay). Other members in WG2 might also be involved in co-leading this project. For further information, please check the attached file of the WG2 STSM call. Take a
1st GENOA’s Training Schools on indicators and CBD reports

International Earth Day
Today, we join millions in celebrating Earth Day! This year's slogan, "Our Power, Our Earth", resonates deeply with the core of GENOA COST Action (CA23121). The genetic diversity highlighted in our work is a fundamental power source for the resilience and health of our planet's ecosystems and species. By understanding and safeguarding this diversity, we empower nature's ability to adapt and thrive. Let's use our power to ensure that genetic diversity is not just "wanted", but actively protected and integrated into biodiversity restoration strategies for a stronger, more vibrant Earth. Happy International Earth Day!
Expression Of Interest Questionnaire For The Establishment Of A Young Professionals Network
GENOA Young Researchers & Innovators (Professionals) group aims to gather expressions of interest and motivation from individuals interested in joining our newly established network of Young Professionals within COST Action CA23121 - Genetic Nature Observation and Action (GENOA). The goal of this network is to enhance the participation of young professionals in various networking and training activities, including (but not limited to) summer schools, workshops on genetic indicators and collaborative publication efforts. Please note that we follow COST's definition of Young Professionals, which includes all members under 40 years old. To fill the survey please click here.
